Leonid Keller

Info

Julia Ossko (*1978) and Eugen Schulz (*1984) have been collaborating as the artist duo Leonid Keller since 2013. They live and work in Berlin, Germany.

Leonid Keller’s work begins with the exploration of images. These images are specifically chosen for their association with certain themes such as ideologies, political fanaticism, abuse of power and cultural identity. Importantly, these themes are not arbitrary, but are elements that are deeply rooted or embedded in our collective visual memory. By rearranging the material into fictional constellations of image, text, form, colour and object, historical and temporal bonds dissolve and new narratives emerge. Leonid Keller aims to develop imagery that addresses social issues and challenges our approach to dominant worldviews.

Their often site-specific installations incorporate various media such as collage, drawing, sculpture, screenprint, photography, and video. The artistic development process is an integral part of their installations.
